About the Event
Devised Theatre - frequently called collective creation - is a method of theatre-making in which the script or (if it is a predominantly physical work) performance score originates from collaborative, often improvisatory work by a performing ensemble.
L.A.B stands for Language, Action, and Breath. In this class we will create a lab environment to give actors an opportunity to test their creative ideas, practice their technique, and perform their skills. This ensemble-based class will take place over 5 weeks. The first classes will consist of a strong review of Viewpoints, an introduction of Ensemble Work, and an exploration of Clown and Devised teachings. The following classes will allow the students to implement their skills in the creation of a ensemble devised project. This project is a chance to play, create, and perform and will be presented in front of an audience of friends, family, and the public at the end of the 5 weeks.
To audition for this class please email firstname.lastname@example.org. The audition will consist of an interview and a cold read. No preparation is necessary.
