About the Event
Eight Week Acting Summer Camp- for ages 6-16.
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 am-4:00 pm.
Themes:
Week One- Make Them Laugh- Participate in comedy improv games similar to the show Whose Line Is It Anyway?
Week of May 30th-June 3rd
Week Two- Lights, Camera, Action Commercial Acting- Learn techniques behind commercial acting and record your very own commercial!
Week of June 6th-June 10th
Week Three- Ready For The Big Screen? Learn On-Screen Acting techniques meant for TV & Film.
Week of June 13th- June 17th
Week Four- Triple Threat Musical Theater - Sing, Dance, and Act in a Musical Theatre Number performance.
Week of June 20th-June 24th
Week Five-Story Builders Behind The Scenes - Playwriting and Directing - Learn how to build a story through playwriting, directing, and managing other actors.
Week of June 26th- July 1st
Week Six- Versatile Voices Voice Over Acting- Learn the techniques behind voiceovers in commercials and cartoons.
Week of July 11th- July 15th
Week Seven- Playgrounds Got Talent - Juggling, magic, dancing, singing, hula hooping, or telling jokes? What's your talent? Participate in The Playground Acting Programs' very own Talent Show.
Week of July 18th-22nd
Week Eight- 24-Hour Show- We cast, rehearse, and perform a show within 24 hours! It's Epic.
Week of July 25th-29th
Please note:
Location: Our camp is located on SMU's campus. We will send out drop-off information before the first day of camp.
Students must bring their lunch. We will offer a catered Friday Lunch for purchase each week.
