About the Event
This workshop introduces actors to a practical, behavior-based approach to scene work inspired by Uta Hagen’s technique.
Using a short scene provided in advance, actors will explore given circumstances, personal connection, and active listening—learning how to stop performing and start doing. Rather than chasing emotion, participants will build scenes from clear circumstances, real needs, and observable behavior.
In class, we will work through:
Uta Hagen’s Six Steps as a living, physical tool (“If you know it, we should see it.”)
Object work to access truthful behavior without trying
Listening over line delivery, allowing scenes to unfold moment to moment rather than being pre-planned
